I Wouldn’t Swim in the Amazon River

by Rachel

I wouldn’t swim in the Amazon River.

The current is strong and deep

She carries big debris, like trees

And there are tales of living things

Deep under the water

Dolphins’ cities and highways of fish

That snatch people from the surface

Never to be seen again.

I wouldn’t swim in the Amazon River.
